Adrienne Lenker is a NYC-based indie/folk/rock singer/songwriter touring from TX to NYC to promote her new solo album, Hours Were The Birds, and her new duo album, A-Sides, with the songwriter/guitarist Buck Meek, who will also be on tour with Lenker, performing as a duo.
Her sound has been described by blogs as "a mix of Laura Marling, Coco Rosie and Joni Mitchell." (Madmackerel.org) She was one of the six winners of the 2013 Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk Competition, as well as a finalist in the 2005 International Songwriting Competition. She's opened up for Susan Tedeschi at Joes Pub in NYC and recently appeared at Club Passim in late January with Ryan Montbleau.
Martin Bemberg, local poet and songwriter for the late Memphis and currently for High Lonesome will be performing a retrospective of tunes played in both groups, tunes dating back as far as 2007.
