Join us to hear several of our local poets reading poems from the newly published What About This: Collected Poems of Frank Stanford. This new collection spans his entire career, published and previously uncollected.
Frank Stanford was born in Mississippi and worked as an unlicensed land surveyor. He published poetry, short fiction, and the epic 15,000-line poem "The Battlefield Where the Moon Says I Love You." Stanford studied poetry at the UofA but left before earning a degree. In June 1978, he died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
