Join us at The Nightbird Mystery Book Club, a club for mystery lovers of all kinds, meeting monthly on the 2nd Thursday at 6:30. We plan to read a variety of mysteries, from classic authors like Agatha Christie to moderns like Ian Rankin and Louise Penny. We won’t leave out the cozies either, so warm up your teacups! Members will choose a book to read (available through Nightbird for a 10% discount) and discuss each month.
The January selection is Fer-de-Lance by Rex Stout, the first Nero Wolfe book.
"As any herpetologist will tell you, the fer-de-lance is among the most dreaded snakes known to man. When someone makes a present of one to Nero Wolfe, Archie Goodwin knows he's getting dreadfully close to solving the devilishly clever murders of an immigrant and a college president. As for Wolfe, he's playing snake charmer in a case with more twists than an anaconda -- whistling a seductive tune he hopes will catch a killer who's still got poison in his heart."
